National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, has published a detailed recruitment notification on the official website of NHAI www.nhai.gov.in.
Through this notification, NHAI has invited online applications for several posts such as Deputy Manager (Finance & Accounts), Library & Information Assistant, Junior Translation Officer, Accountant, and Stenographer. Educational Qualification
Different posts need different qualifications. Every candidate must have a degree from a recognized university or institute. Those who are still waiting for their final exam results cannot apply.
- Stenographer: Bachelor’s Degree with shorthand speed of 80 words per minute in English or Hindi.
- Deputy Manager (Finance & Accounts): MBA in Finance (regular course).
- Library & Information Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science.
- Junior Translation Officer: Master’s Degree in English or Hindi with a Diploma or Certificate in Translation (Hindi to English and vice versa).
- Accountant: Bachelor’s Degree with CA or CMA Intermediate qualification.
Age Limit
The maximum age for most posts is 30 years, while for the Stenographer post, the upper age limit is 28 years. The age will be counted as on the last date of online application. Age relaxation is given as per government rules:
Departmental candidates (working in NHAI): Up to 40-45 years
SC/ST: 5 years
OBC: 3 years
PwBD: 10 to 15 years (based on category)

Salary Details
Candidates selected for NHAI recruitment will receive salary as per the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix. Along with basic pay, selected employees will also get allowances like DA, HRA, TA, and other government benefits.
- Deputy Manager (Finance & Accounts): ₹56,100 – 1,77,500 (Level 10)
- Library & Information Assistant: ₹35,400 – 1,12,400 (Level 6)
- Junior Translation Officer: ₹35,400 – 1,12,400 (Level 6)
- Accountant: ₹29,200 – 92,300 (Level 5)
- Stenographer: ₹25,500 – 81,100 (Level 4)
Application Process
Candidates have to apply online through the official website www.nhai.gov.in. They have to register with a valid email ID, fill the application form with correct details and upload the required documents, then submit the final application by paying the fee online if required.

Application Fee
Candidates need to pay the application fee through online mode only. Bank charges, if any, must be paid by the candidate.
- UR / OBC / EWS: ₹500 per post
- SC / ST / PwBD: No Fee
Once the fee is paid, it will not be refunded under any condition. If you apply for more than one post, you have to pay the fee for each post separately.
Selection Process
The selection will be made through a Computer Based Test (CBT) and, depending on the post, may also include an Interview or Skill Test.

- Library & Information Assistant: CBT only
- Junior Translation Officer: CBT only
- Accountant: CBT only
- Stenographer: CBT + Skill Test in Stenography
