Educational Qualification
The qualifications vary according to the post:
- For Junior Engineer (JE): Diploma or Degree in Engineering in the relevant discipline.
- For Depot Material Superintendent (DMS): Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institution.
- For Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA): Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry as main subjects.
Candidates who are still waiting for their final results cannot apply for this recruitment. Only those who have completed their qualifications before the last date are eligible.
Age Limit
As per the official notice, the minimum age for all candidates is 18 years, and the maximum age is 33 years as on 1 January 2026. This means candidates born between 2 January 1993 and 1 January 2008 (both dates inclusive) are eligible.
Age relaxation is available as per government norms:
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- SC/ST: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 to 15 years (depending on category)

Salary Details
Selected candidates will receive a salary in Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix. The initial pay for all three posts – Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant – is ₹35,400 per month.
In addition, employees will receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and other government benefits as per Railway norms.
Application Process
The application process for RRB JE 2025 is completely online. Candidates have to visit the official RRB website and click on the “Apply Online” link under CEN No. 05/2025. First, they have to create an account using a valid email ID and mobile number, then fill in the personal, educational and contact details carefully.
Application Fee
The examination fee varies by category as follows:

Selection Process
The RRB JE 2025 selection process will include several stages to ensure fair and transparent recruitment. The stages are as follows:

- Medical Examination
There will be negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer in both CBT stages. Candidates must also meet the medical fitness standards specified in the notification to qualify for final appointment.
