Oil India Limited (OIL) has released a new recruitment notification on 24 October 2025 under Advt. No. HRAQ/CONT-WP-B/25-235. This notice has been officially published on the OIL website at www.oil-india.com.
In this recruitment drive, OIL will engage candidates for Contractual Drilling/Workover Operator and Contractual Drilling/Workover Assistant Operator positions. Educational Qualification
For the Drilling/Workover Operator post, candidates must have passed Class 10th and hold either a 3-year Diploma in Engineering from a recognized institute, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, or a Trade Certificate in Diesel Mechanic, Fitter, Electrician, Turner, Welder, Motor Mechanic, or Machinist. Depending on the qualification, candidates must have 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience in drilling or workover operations.
For the Assistant Operator post, candidates must have passed Class 10th and hold a Trade Certificate in any of the above technical trades. They must also have a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification work experience in drilling or workover operations such as rig floor work, tripping operations, or handling drilling tools.

Age Limit
The minimum age to apply for these posts is 18 years. For the Drilling/Workover Operator post, the maximum age is 45 years for General, 48 years for OBC (NCL), and 50 years for SC candidates. For the Assistant Operator post, the maximum age is 40 years for General, 43 years for OBC (NCL), and 45 years for ST candidates. Age relaxation will be given as per Government of India rules.
Salary Details
The monthly salary for these contractual positions is divided into fixed and variable parts.
- For Drilling/Workover Operator:
- Fixed Emolument: ₹24,960 per month
- Variable Emolument: ₹960 per day for each working day
- For Assistant Operator:
- Fixed Emolument: ₹21,450 per month
- Variable Emolument: ₹825 per day for each working day
This means the total pay will depend on the number of working days attended during the month.

How to Apply
