The Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially released the AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) 01/2026 notification for courses starting from January 2027. IAF AFCAT 01/2026 Recruitment Details
Under the AFCAT 01/2026 Notification, the IAF will recruit eligible candidates for the post of Commissioned Officer. The number of vacancies will be officially announced on 9th November 2025 on the IAF website. Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the Indian Air Force AFCAT 01/2026 exam must have specific qualifications based on the post.
- For the Flying Branch, candidates should have studied Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level and must hold a Graduation or B.E./B.Tech degree from a recognized university.
- For the Ground Duty (Technical Branch), a B.E./B.Tech degree in relevant engineering disciplines is required.
- For the Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branch), candidates must have a Graduate or Postgraduate degree in streams like Administration, Accounts, Logistics, or Education.

Age Limit
For the Flying Branch, candidates must be between 20 and 24 years old. However, candidates who hold a valid Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) can apply up to 26 years of age. Salary and Benefits
Indian Air Force officers receive a good salary and many benefits. During training, they get ₹56100 per month. After joining, the pay starts from ₹56100 to ₹177500, plus other allowances and benefits.
Application Process
The entire application process for AFCAT 01/2026 is online. Applicants must register and submit their forms through the official portal between 10th November 2025 and 9th December 2025.
Application Fee
Candidates who wish to apply for the AFCAT entry must pay an application fee of ₹550 plus GST, which is non-refundable. This fee must be paid online through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
