Educational Qualification

To apply for the Probationary Engineer post, candidates must have completed a B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) degree from an AICTE-approved college. Eligible branches include Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Telecommunication, Communication, Telecommunication, Mechanical, Computer Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical, and Electrical & Electronics.

Candidates belonging to General, OBC (NCL), and EWS categories must have secured First Class, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates are eligible with a Pass Class in their qualifying degree.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for General and EWS candidates is 25 years as on 01.10.2025. However, there is age relaxation for reserved categories as per government rules:

OBC (NCL): 3 years
SC/ST: 5 years
PwBD: 10 years (additional relaxation for SC/ST/OBC PwBD as per norms)
Ex-servicemen: 5 years

Salary Details

Selected candidates will be appointed in the E-II Grade with a basic pay scale of ₹40,000–1,40,000/-. The approximate annual CTC will be around ₹13 lakhs.

They will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), HRA, Performance Pay, Medical Reimbursement, Conveyance Allowance, and other company benefits as per BEL policy.

Application Process

Interested candidates must apply online only through BEL’s official website www.bel-india.in. Applicants need to first register themselves and then log in using the user ID and password sent to their registered email ID and mobile number.

After filling out all the required details, they must upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, and necessary documents. Once the application is submitted, candidates should download and keep a copy of the filled form and payment receipt for future use.

Application Fee

Candidates belonging to General, OBC (NCL), and EWS categories must pay an application fee of ₹1000 + GST (₹1180 total) through SBI e-Pay Lite online payment gateway.

However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from payment of any fee.

Selection Process

The selection will be conducted in two stages:

Computer-Based Test (CBT): The test will include 125 questions (100 technical + 25 aptitude & reasoning). There will be negative marking (0.25 marks deduction) for wrong answers.
Minimum qualifying marks: 35% for General/OBC/EWS and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD.
Interview: Candidates shortlisted in the CBT (in a 1:5 ratio) will be called for an interview.
The final selection will be based on combined performance in both stages, with 85% weightage for CBT and 15% for Interview.
