The Indian Coast Guard has released a new recruitment advertisement under the Employment News edition dated 27 September to 03 October 2025. This recruitment notification has been officially published on the Indian Coast Guard’s website – www.indiancoastguard.gov.in.

In this recruitment drive, the Indian Coast Guard has invited applications from eligible Indian citizens for several Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial posts. Educational Qualification
To apply for these Indian Coast Guard Group ‘C’ posts, candidates must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) from any recognised board.
For the post of Motor Transport Driver, candidates must also have a valid heavy and light vehicle driving license, two years of driving experience, and knowledge of motor mechanism.
For MTS (Peon and Daftry), a candidate should have two years’ experience as an Office Attendant.
For MTS (Packer), at least two years of work experience in the trade is needed. Candidates applying for Lascar 1st Class must have three years’ experience working on boats.

Age Limit
The age limit for most posts is between 18 to 27 years, while for Lascar 1st Class, it is 18 to 30 years. Government servants can get relaxation up to 40 years, and OBC candidates can avail of relaxation up to 3 years as per central government rules.
Salary Details
The selected candidates will receive a salary as per the 7th Pay Commission (CPC) rules. The Motor Transport Driver post comes under Pay Level 2, with a basic pay range of ₹19900 – 63200 per month. The Multi-Tasking Staff (Peon, Daftry, Packer) and Lascar 1st Class posts are under Pay Level 1, with a basic pay of ₹18000 – 56900 per month.
In addition, all employees will get government allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA) as per central government rules.

How to Apply
Interested candidates must fill the application form in English or Hindi using the prescribed format (Annexure-I). Attach a self-attested color photograph and copies of all required documents such as ID proof, date of birth certificate, educational qualification, experience, category certificate, and NOC (if applicable). Also, include a blank envelope with a ₹50 postal stamp pasted, addressed to yourself.

Selection Process
The Indian Coast Guard selection process includes five main stages. First, all applications will be checked for eligibility. Shortlisted candidates will then go through document verification, followed by a written examination. The written exam will have 80 objective questions covering General English, General Knowledge, Simple Maths, and trade-related topics.
Candidates who pass the written exam will attend a Skill or Trade Test, which is qualifying in nature. The final merit list will be made based on marks scored in the written test and published on the Coast Guard’s official website.
