Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a Full-time 3 years LLB or 5 years Integrated Law/LLB course with not less than 60% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized institute or university. For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum qualifying mark is 45%. The degree must be recognized in India.

Age Limit
The upper age limit is 28 years as on 5th December 2025.
However, there are relaxations as per government norms:
- OBC (NCL) – 3 years
- SC/ST – 5 years
- PwBD – 10 years (UR), 13 years (OBC-NCL), 15 years (SC/ST)
- Victims of riots – As per Government of India rules
Salary and Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive a Basic Pay of ₹40,000 during training with additional perks, IDA, and HRA.
After successful completion of the training period, they will be placed as Officer (Law) at E2 level with a pay scale of ₹50,000 – 3% – ₹1,60,000 (IDA).
The approximate CTC will be:
- During Training: ₹11.00 Lakhs per annum
- After Training: ₹22.50 Lakhs per annum

Application Process
Interested and eligible candidates must appear for CLAT 2026 (Post Graduate level) and then register online on the POWERGRID website. The online application process will be open from 14th November 2025 (5 PM) to 5th December 2025 (11:59 PM).
Candidates are advised to keep a valid email ID and mobile number active throughout the recruitment process.
Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of ₹500. However, SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. Payment can be made online through Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
Selection Process
The selection for POWERGRID Officer Trainee (Law) will be based on CLAT 2026 scores, followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
