Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in the relevant discipline with at least 65% marks. The qualification must be from a UGC-recognized university or an AICTE-approved institute. Final-year students of the 2025–26 academic session are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the required percentage criteria at the time of final results.

For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, a relaxation of 5% marks (minimum 60%) is applicable for posts reserved for these categories. Integrated dual-degree programs (B.E/B.Tech + M.E/M.Tech) are also acceptable.
Age Limit
The upper age limit is 26 years as of 18th March 2026. However, relaxations are applicable as follows:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- PwBD (General/EWS): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC-NCL): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
The maximum age of any applicant, including all relaxations, shall not exceed 56 years.
Salary Details
Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of ₹60,000 – 1,80,000/- in E-2 Grade with a basic pay of ₹60,000/- during a one-year training-cum-probation period. After successful completion, candidates will be absorbed in the same scale.

Additional benefits include Dearness Allowance, HRA, medical facilities, insurance, and performance-related pay (PRP). Employees will also receive Provident Fund, Gratuity, Pension, and Post-Retirement Medical Benefits after 15 years of service.
Application Process
Candidates who wish to apply for the GAIL Executive Trainee recruitment must first register for GATE 2026 in one of the relevant papers. After obtaining their GATE 2026 registration number and admit card, they can apply online through the Careers section of the GAIL website – www.gailonline.com.
Applications will only be accepted in online mode. No other means or offline applications will be entertained. Candidates must ensure they provide their valid GATE 2026 registration number while filling out the GAIL application form.

Selection Process
The selection process will be entirely based on GATE 2026 scores. Candidates will be shortlisted discipline-wise based on their marks, and further stages of selection will follow as per company policy. Only GATE 2026 marks are valid for this recruitment (GATE 2025 or earlier scores will not be accepted).
