Educational Qualification Requirements
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
- A medical qualification listed in the First or Second Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- Postgraduate qualifications as per the department requirement: MD/MS for broad specialties/ DM for super-specialty departments
- Required experience: Three years of teaching/research experience after MD/MS (for most departments).
For DM-specialties:
- No experience required for 3-year DM
- One year of experience required for 2-year or 5-year DM courses
- Experience must be from recognized institutions only.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The maximum age limit of 50 years will be calculated as on the closing date of application submission. Age relaxation for reserved categories will apply as per the Government of India rules.
Salary Details
The Assistant Professor posts are contractual and offer ₹1,42,506/- per month Consolidated monthly salary as per JIPMER norms. Contract faculty do not receive benefits such as PF, pension, gratuity, medical claim, seniority, or promotion.
