The Pravasi ID Card, also known as the Norka ID Card, is an official identity card issued by the Government of Kerala for Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs). Multi-Purpose Identity Card
Gives NRKs access to all services and facilities offered by NORKA Roots.
Accident Insurance Coverage up to ₹4 Lakh
Holders receive personal accident insurance coverage of up to ₹4,00,000.
Validity of 3 Years
The card remains valid for 3 years from the date of issue.
Affordable Fee
You only need to pay ₹315 to receive the card and insurance benefits.
3. Updated Insurance Benefits (As per New Law)
According to updated guidelines:
Double Insurance for Pravasi & Student ID Holders
All Pravasi and Norka Student ID card users must now pay double insurance.
Accidental Death Benefit: ₹2 – ₹4 lakh
Depending on the case, beneficiaries will receive between ₹2 lakhs and ₹4 lakhs.
Disability Coverage: ₹1 – ₹2 lakh
Partial or full disability benefits range from ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakhs.
Benefit Eligibility Period
Benefits apply to individuals who have completed one year of membership, effective from April 1, 2020.

NORKA distributed ₹54.64 lakh to 28 Pravasi families, demonstrating the strong support system for NRKs.
5. Who Can Apply for the Norka Pravasi ID Card? (Eligibility)
Age Requirement
Applicant must be 18 years or older.
Pravasi Status
You must be a Non-Resident Keralite working or residing abroad with a valid passport and a minimum 6-month visa.
Students Abroad
Kerala students studying or admitted to foreign universities can apply for the Norka Student ID Card.
6. Documents Required for Pravasi ID Card Application
Prepare these documents in JPEG format before applying:
- Passport front page + address page
- Visa / Ikkama / Work Permit / Residence Permit
- Recent passport-size photo
- Signature of the applicant
- Registration fee: ₹315
7. Pravasi ID Card Renewal Guidelines
- You can apply for renewal 3 months before expiry.
- Submit the prescribed documents and renewal fee.
